Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Package Handler and become a vital part of our logistics operation! In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for efficiently handling, sorting, and preparing packages for shipment and delivery. Your efforts will ensure timely order fulfillment, accurate inventory management, and smooth warehouse distribution processes. Responsibilities Safely load and unload packages using equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers. Perform inventory control tasks including stock counting, cycle counts, and updating warehouse management systems (WMS) like AS400 or RF scanners. Prepare packages for shipping by packing items securely and accurately following order specifications. Pick and pack orders efficiently using order picker tools and ensure correct items are selected for each shipment. Operate heavy equipment safely to move materials within the warehouse, including load & unload activities. Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound shipments, utilizing inventory management systems to track stock levels. Follow OSHA safety guidelines and mechanical knowledge protocols to promote a safe working environment at all times. Assist with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring timely processing of incoming supplies and outgoing shipments. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas, stocking shelves, and ensuring proper placement of materials. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve inventory accuracy, and enhance overall warehouse efficiency. Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Familiarity with inventory management systems such as AS400 or RF scanners is advantageous. Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers—certification preferred but not mandatory. Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of materials handling equipment like packaging tools and order fulfillment machinery. Strong attention to detail for inventory control tasks such as stock counting and order picking. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting regularly and stand for extended periods during shifts. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations is a plus. Excellent teamwork skills with experience supporting shipping & receiving functions or warehouse supervision roles are highly valued.
