Job Summary The Rural Carrier Associate plays a vital role in ensuring timely and efficient mail delivery within designated rural routes. This position involves driving a vehicle to deliver mail and packages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the integrity of the postal service. The ideal candidate will be dependable, possess strong driving skills, and have a commitment to serving the community. Responsibilities Drive a designated route to deliver mail and packages to rural customers. Load and unload mail from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling of items. Perform heavy lifting as required for packages and mail. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from customers. Operate various types of vehicles, including box trucks, while adhering to all safety regulations. Utilize manual transmission vehicles when necessary. Assist in managing the logistics of route driving, including planning efficient delivery routes. Requirements Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting and load/unload items safely. Familiarity with route driving and navigating rural areas is essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers. Experience with commercial driving is a plus. Proficiency in operating a pallet jack and other loading equipment is beneficial. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required. Must be able to operate manual transmission vehicles if needed. This position requires dedication and attention to detail to ensure that all deliveries are made accurately and on time while providing outstanding service to our rural community.
