Customer Service Job Statement Primary responsibilities include being the first point of contact for Residential and Commercial walk-in customers, vendors, board members, contractors, and employees. Providing customer and administrative support. Essential Duties Greet everyone entering the main office with a smile, using an upbeat and courteous tone, while promoting a positive image of Huntsville Utilities. Direct customers to the appropriate kiosk for registration and payments. Promote online applications for new residential customers. Remain cognizant of customer needs, offering assistance where appropriate. Extend a goodwill to everyone leaving the main office. Comply with safety & security visitor procedures and building security standards and policies. Responsible for the distribution, tracking, and collection of all security badges. Stay abreast of scheduled meetings to ensure appropriate visitor intake. Responsible for receiving, tracking, and distribution of incoming and outgoing deliveries. (i.e. USPS, UPS, FedEx, employee refunds/per diem checks, drop offs, etc.) Prevent violations of bid laws by staying abreast of required processes for receiving and distributing bid packages. Performs various on-line data entry. Prepares correspondence for the section as necessary. Responsible for monitoring and reporting lobby kiosk malfunctions. Responsible for replenishing customer literature stands as necessary. Cross-trains in various job functions in Customer Care to assist in accomplishing the workload of the departments. Keeps a safe and clean reception area. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Education/Training/Certification:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
Prior clerical experience, excellent communication skills, and strong organizational and multitasking skills required. Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred. Able to maintain professionalism during stressful interactions. Pleasant and outgoing personality. Ability to work well with others.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
Primarily performs non sedentary activities in an office environment; some tasks require repetitive motion over an extended period.
Equipment:
Personal computer (data entry), calculator, telephone, and copier. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Other:
Customer interactions are subject to being recorded for Quality Assurance purposes. May require overtime with minimal notice based on workload. Subject to recall during emergencies.
