Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check-in clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and relay messages accurately
  • Maintain accurate records, including accurate spelling and grammar.
  • Handle financial transactions, including collecting payments and processing invoices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and exam rooms.
  • Provide compassionate care to animals in the clinic including walking dogs, feeding, medicating, cleaning cages, litterboxes, laundry, etc.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist or similar field
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and veterinary procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software used in veterinary clinics
  • We use Cornerstone.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
Hours:
  • This position is scheduled for four 10 hour shifts each week. Shifts are scheduled from 7:30am-6:30pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with a one hour lunch however most days we are done before 6pm. Full time employees work 32-40 hours/week. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate partial shifts. Some Wednesdays may be required.
  • All staff rotate holiday duties.
This means taking care of the animals in our care, cleaning cages, litterboxes, feeding, walking, etc. as well as sweeping, mopping, and making sure the clinic is ready to open on the next business day. These shifts are usually 2-3 hours and works out to 2-3 shifts per year
