Our mission is to provide holistic healthcare to as many people as possible , and this role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, patient-centered environment . As our practice grows—including the recent opening of our third location —we are looking for a receptionist who is comfortable starting with 12-20 hours per week , with the potential for additional hours over time as patient demand increases.
Schedule:
Weekday availability between 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Weekend shift required Hours may vary week to week depending on patient volume and scheduling needs across locations
Compensation:
Starting at $20/hour Required skills : Must be a strong multitasker with a calm and cool demeanor . The phone is often ringing, patients are checking in and out, email inboxes are flooding, and practitioners are bustling between treatment rooms. Must be tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software and tracking systems . Our web-based practice management software is utilized for scheduling, accepting payments, insurance claims filing and maintaining electronic health records. We also utilize multiple spreadsheets to support smooth patient management. Must be a quick learner as it applies to health insurance . We're happy to teach you from the ground up, but be prepared to learn all the ins and outs of deductibles, coinsurance, Medicare plans, secondary insurers, and more because patients have a LOT of questions about insurance! Must be a strong communicator over the phone, in person, and via text and email . We strive to be kind, helpful, thorough, patient, and transparent in all communications with the community, especially surrounding insurance and scheduling details. Must be a team player, with the ability to work well collaboratively . We have three other rockstar receptionists and an offsite biller that you would frequently be sharing responsibilities with. Must be detail-oriented and organized. This position requires scheduling for multiple providers with varying schedules across multiple locations. You must accurately collect patient data to book appointments and accurately relay acupuncture benefits to the patients. Must be HIPAA-compliant and act in an ethical manner . You will be handling Protected Health Information every day, and this needs to be done with the utmost privacy and care to protect our patients' confidentiality. Must have strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills . While we have a Practice Manager, we appreciate a team member who can attempt to solve issues independently and discern when it's time to move something up the food chain. Must be comfortable with light cleaning and tidying . Opening procedures require stocking treatment room supplies and tidying the waiting room area. You will be asked to change sheets on treatment tables whenever possible to help the acupuncturists stay on schedule.
Enhance our ambiance:
Help create a peaceful, meditative oasis from the moment patients walk through our door. Preferences Associates degree required; Bachelors degree strongly preferred. Experience in a HIPAA-compliant setting is strongly preferred. Experience in a multi-provider or multi-location medical practice is strongly preferred. A love for acupuncture and holistic medicine is a big plus.

Selection process:

This process helps ensure the role is a good fit for both you and our team, while giving you insight into our practice before committing.
