Job Description

Position Summary:
A well-established dental office is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. This key role ensures the smooth flow of our daily operations by managing patient scheduling, verifying insurance, and maintaining a high standard of patient communication. This is a backfill role, and discretion in applying is appreciated.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage daily patient schedules to optimize provider productivity and minimize downtime. Confirm appointments and communicate schedule changes to patients promptly and professionally. Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorizations for all scheduled procedures. Accurately input and update patient insurance information in the practice management system. Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient experiences. Greet patients with warmth and professionalism, maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Handle high-volume phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding appointments, insurance, and general office information. Assist in follow-up scheduling for treatment plans and hygiene appointments. Maintain confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA regulations. Bilingual communication (Spanish/English or other) is highly preferred and will be prioritized.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a dental office front desk or scheduling role is strongly preferred. Proficiency in dental insurance verification and patient benefit coordination. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental) is a plus. Bilingual skills are highly desirable.
