QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of highly successful experience performing general office duties in a busy office atmosphere.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Positive directional communications with public by phone and with walk-ins. All duties assigned by Principal for workload parity and internal control.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. Answers telephone calls properly and promptly making necessary connections throughout the high school. Greets and directs visitors to the appropriate department. Keeps accurate record of employee attendance; enters employee leave using MCS program; maintains file of leave forms. Requests substitute teachers as needed. Checks in substitute teachers upon arrival and provides them with daily schedules information and materials; creates substitute teacher packets. Assists students with dress code violations. Issues temporary bus passes; create student IDs; assist with blue cards. Maintains parking violations; calls for tow truck, as needed. Makes necessary announcements; calls students to main office for various reasons. Performs other duties as assigned by Principal.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively and independently prioritize Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, software and equipment Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel Strong written and oral communication skills; knowledge of minimal bookkeeping skills, business English, proper vocabulary and spelling Knowledge of business etiquette; demonstrated poise and composure in all circumstances; polished phone manners. Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, co-workers, administrative personnel and the public. Self-motivated; takes ownership of work; enjoys working as a collaborative member of a team Ability to perform duties with limited guidance and independent judgement Adaptable, flexible, fast learner. Looks for and implements ways to improve systems, procedures and customer service.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear in addition to operating a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, such as boxes of reports in storage. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.
Work Environment:
The noise level can vary depending upon daily activity but will still remain within the acceptable noise level range. The employee continuously is interacting with the public, staff and students. The employee frequently will be required to meet multiple demands of several people.
