Job Description

Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Front Desk Check-In Receptionist to join our healthcare facility. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient service, managing medical administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have strong clerical skills, experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment dedicated to patient care excellence. Responsibilities Greet patients, parents, and visitors warmly Check patients in and out for appointments Verify patient demographics and contact information Maintain a child-friendly, professional atmosphere Manage waiting room flow and communicate delays Answer questions regarding office policies and procedures Greet patients warmly and manage check-in procedures efficiently Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes Collect payments and process billing using systems such as Greenway Health and Phreesia Review and update patient documentation within EMR systems Handle patient inquiries via multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with medical billing, coding (ICD-10, CPT), and documentation review for billing accuracy Facilitate communication between patients and clinical staff regarding treatment plans and billing issues Manage filing, data entry, and other clerical duties using Microsoft Office and other office management tools Support office management tasks to ensure an organized front desk environment Experience Prior experience in a medical office setting, dental clinic, or hospital environment preferred Prior experience in pediatrics preferred Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems Familiarity with medical coding including
ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT
coding, and insurance billing processes Strong understanding of medical terminology and health information management practices Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Proficiency in clerical tasks such as filing, typing (10 key), and using multi-line phone systems Experience with health insurance verification and documentation review is advantageous This role requires a dedicated individual committed to maintaining confidentiality, accuracy in documentation, and delivering outstanding patient service.
