Bethany, Where Work Feels Like Home Company Overview Bethany Home is a compassionate non-profit organization affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), dedicated to serving individuals aged 60 and older. Position Summary We are seeking a friendly, organized, and proactive part-time receptionist to join our team. This vital role involves providing excellent customer service to residents, employees, family members and visitors both in person and on the phone. This role is crucial to ensuring that the facility operates smoothly and that residents are comfortable and well cared for. Responsibilities Greet visitors and residents warmly, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage multi-line phone system with professionalism and courtesy, directing calls efficiently. Handle front desk duties including check-ins, appointments, and inquiries. Support office management activities such as calendar management and appointment scheduling. Make daily announcements and lead a short prayer prior to meals being served to the apartment residents. Take attendance and call residents who are not at a designated meal to check on them. Request the house supervisor to check on anyone who cannot be reached. Assist those making purchases from the gift ship including receiving payments and maintaining the cash drawer. Assist residents with issues they are having with personal devices, checking out library books, scheduling appointments, ordering prescriptions, paying bills, etc Assist with maintaining the safety and security of residents, employees and visitors by monitoring access to the facility and alerting appropriate leaders of concerns, screening visitors according to health-related protocols as appropriate, observing and reporting any suspicious behavior or unauthorized access attempts to appropriate leader(s) an assisting with communication during emergency situations. Unlock the front door (morning shift) and lock the front door at the completion of the evening shift. Provide clerical support to executive leadership as schedule allows. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED or attending high school Ability to successfully pass a background check, pre-employment physical and 2-step TB test Ability to read, write and understand English Preferred Qualifications Previous office or administrative experience including working with a multi-line phone system Experience working with the elderly Schedule Weekday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and every third Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Hours per week vary from 6 to 12 and additional hours may be available Join us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while enjoying a supportive work environment that values your skills and dedication!
