Veterinary Receptionist

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks in a fast-paced veterinary environment. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care, as well as excellent communication skills to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Duties Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Handle medical collections and process payments accurately. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans. Provide information to clients regarding pet care, services offered, and veterinary procedures. Assist veterinarians with basic animal handling and restraint during examinations. Manage incoming calls, emails, and inquiries with professionalism. Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations within the clinic. Requirements At least 1 year experience in a veterinary setting is preferred, with knowledge of veterinary terminology. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with medical collection processes is beneficial. Understanding of animal husbandry practices and basic animal anatomy. Kennel experience will be considered an advantage. Experience in animal handling is a plus. A passion for animal care and welfare is essential for this role.
