Chopin Law Firm is an award-winning, high-volume personal injury firm located in New Orleans, LA. Our legal team has decades of experience defending personal injury cases, which allows us to effectively advocate for our clients' rights and tailor legal solutions to meet their individual needs and circumstances. In addition to personal injury, our clients also turn to us for assistance with property damage and insurance claims, workers' compensation, business and commercial litigation, and business disruption claims.
General Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized Receptionist to join our exceptional team. With 12 attorneys in our office, we are passionate and enjoy what we do. Our office environment is different from other law firms; we are not formal or stuffy; we won't ask you to work nights, weekends, or holidays. However, we do expect you to work hard, just like the rest of our team. We are seeking a professional, personable, and highly organized Receptionist to serve as the welcoming face of our high-volume practice. This role is critical to creating positive first impressions for clients, guests, and vendors while supporting the smooth operation of our practice. The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates excellent judgment in making quick decisions, and manages multiple priorities with grace and efficiency. The expectation is that you not only anticipate the needs of the office, but also those of our clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Manage a multi-line phone system, screening and directing 75+ calls per day promptly and courteously to appropriate personnel
  • Greet clients and guests, announce arrivals, and ensure comfortable waiting area accommodations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors, clients, and vendors, providing a warm, professional, and welcoming experience
  • Sorting, delivering, and sending mail, including high-priority documents
  • Maintaining the reception area, kitchen, and storage areas
  • Stocking and managing office and kitchen supplies
  • Running office errands as requested
  • Calling and coordinating with external vendors (such as paper shredders, maintenance, etc.)
  • Effectively manage and book appointments as needed
  • Support special projects, events, and firm initiatives as requested Skills and/or
Experience:
Required:
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Basic Computer & Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient during high-volume periods
  • Comfortable greeting and interacting with clients in a reception environment
  • Outstanding phone etiquette and customer service orientation
  • Comfortable with multi-line phone systems
  • General Troubleshooting Skills
  • Highly dependable
  • Minimum 2-3 years of reception or administrative experience, preferably in a professional services environment

    The Receptionist is a full-time position with benefits, based at the Chopin Law Firm office in New Orleans, LA.
