Job Description
Join a dynamic healthcare team as an Optometry Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be essential in creating a welcoming environment for patients and supporting the smooth operation of our optometry practice. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact, managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your proactive attitude will help ensure patients receive exceptional service while maintaining accurate medical records and supporting clinical staff. Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding customer service at the front desk, ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) system. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks. Collect payments, process medical claims, and handle billing tasks utilizing medical billing software and CPT coding standards Manage patient records with meticulous attention to detail, including filing, data entry, and documentation review. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and assisting with patient inquiries. Assist with administrative support tasks such as appointment reminders, intake forms, and maintaining office supplies. Proven experience in a medical office environment or optometry clinic setting with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and insurance verification processes Excellent computer skills and health information management software. Strong organizational skills with the ability to review documentation accurately and maintain detailed medical records Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities. Prior clinic or healthcare administrative experience is preferred.
