Front Desk Receptionist Hermon, ME From $16.50 an hour - Part-time, Full-time From $16.50 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Front Desk Receptionist Where greeting dogs is just as important as greeting humans. About the Role As the Front Desk Receptionist at The Bark House, you're the cheerful human who makes tails wag and pet parents smile. You're the voice on the phone, the treat‑dispenser at check‑in, and the calm in the adorable chaos of daycare, boarding, and grooming drop‑offs. If you love dogs, love people, and love staying organized while surrounded by happy paws, this job is your jam. This role is approx 25 hours per week, handling our busy afternoon checkout time from 1pm to 6pm Monday through Friday. What You'll Do (aka Your Superpowers) Master Check‑Ins — Welcome pups for daycare, boarding, and grooming for our VIPs (Very Important Pups) Schedule Like a Pro — Book grooming appointments, daycare days, and boarding stays without breaking a sweat Phone Heroics — Answer calls, messages, and questions with friendliness and clarity Payment Magic — Handle checkouts, deposits, and retail purchases Pet Parent Support — Help new clients get set up, explain services, and keep everyone informed Lobby Vibes — Keep the front area clean, cute, and welcoming Team Cheerleader — Help daycare and grooming staff with dog hand‑offs and quick assists Record Keeping — Keep client profiles, notes, and vaccine records tidy and accurate What You Bring A friendly, upbeat personality Comfort around dogs of all sizes (from tiny wiggle beans to giant floofs) Ability to multitask in a busy, happy, bark‑filled environment Basic computer skills Reliability, punctuality, and a love for teamwork Ability to stand for long periods and/or sit and lift up to 30 lbs
