PM Pay:
$18.00 per hour
General Summary:
This is an entry level administrative position providing assistance and direction to residents & customers and handling the receipting of all payments.
Essential Job Functions:
Primarily participates in the collection of revenues including but not limited to taxes, utility bills, permits, licenses and other revenues as generated by the City of Flat Rock. Respond courteously and professionally to any inquiries. Primarily receive/assist visitors regarding information locations and function of various departments/operations. Handle phone calls regarding taxes, field sheets, payments, etc. Complete nightly deposit and depositing checks through City bank. Type or assist in the typing of various letters, form letters, reports for the Treasurer and Assessor. Draft required letters and forms. Ability to add value to the City and provide ideas to create efficiencies and streamline operations. Willingness to work as a team and support others throughout the city. Assist the Treasurers Department in all areas as needed. If not assisting the Treasurer's Department, aid other City Departments as requested. Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Certification, Abilities, and Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of office equipment, professional procedures and practices to accurately and efficiently process collections and to maintain related files. Willingness to continually learn new concepts and skills. Reasonable knowledge or ability to learn the principles, methods, techniques, laws, rules and regulations of real and personal property appraisal and assessment including but not limited to knowledge of property exemptions and transfers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent keyboarding and computer skills. Knowledge of BS&A software applications is desirable. High School Diploma supplemented by courses in computer operations, typing and/or equivalent knowledge or years of service.
