Front Desk Receptionist (32 Hours) Horizon Physical Therapy - 5.0 Flint, MI Job Details Part-time Up to $16 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Teamwork Medical scheduling High school diploma or GED Medical records Attention to detail Associate's degree Full Job Description Schedule / Availability 32 hours per week Specific schedule TBD Availability required between 7:00 AM and 6:45 PM Pay Up to $16.00/hour base pay Performance bonus opportunities available (details provided during offer/onboarding) Job Overview Horizon Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation is seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Front Office Receptionist to join our Patient Services team. This position is essential in creating a welcoming, professional environment while ensuring accurate patient registration, scheduling support, and administrative coordination. You'll be the first point of contact for patients, family members, physicians, and staff—and play a key role in keeping our clinic running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Patient Interaction Greet patients and visitors in person and by phone with professionalism and courtesy Manage patient check-in/check-out to ensure a smooth and efficient process Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines Administrative Duties Accurately register patients in the EMR/Practice Management System (verify demographics and insurance info) Prepare and organize patient paperwork prior to appointments Schedule and reschedule appointments, including follow-up on cancellations/no-shows as needed Maintain a clean, organized reception area Insurance & Payment Support Verify insurance eligibility/coverage and note authorization requirements Notify appropriate team members when prior authorization or billing follow-up is needed Collect patient payments, document transactions accurately, and ensure balances are correct Operational Excellence Update and maintain accurate records in the EMR/Practice Management System Coordinate with clinical staff to support smooth daily operations Monitor office supplies and support basic administrative needs Assist in responding to patient situations appropriately using sound judgment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required (associate degree or relevant certification preferred) Experience in a medical office and/or strong customer service background preferred Comfortable learning and using EMR systems and Microsoft Office Strong organization, attention to detail, and reliability Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure Positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to excellent service
Pay:
Up to $16.00 per hour
