Job Description

We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to support a busy healthcare office in Flint, Michigan. This Contract position will focus on coordinating front-desk activities, assisting patients with scheduling and intake needs, and maintaining accurate administrative records. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and community partners. This assignment is expected to last 3 to 6 months.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient appointments, place reminder calls, and reconnect with individuals who miss scheduled visits to help maintain continuity of care.
  • Review insurance information, confirm active coverage, and enter or update billing-related details in office systems with accuracy.
  • Determine payment eligibility status, confirm required service authorizations, and help ensure prior approvals are in place when needed.
  • Collect copayments and other patient balances, process different payment methods, and record transactions correctly.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail while providing general administrative support for correspondence and routine office communications.
  • Assist with departmental projects by arranging meetings, organizing calendars, and supporting day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Prepare memos, reports, letters, and other office documents while maintaining organized and accessible records.
  • Provide front-office and clerical coverage during staff breaks, meetings, absences, and other scheduling gaps.
  • Enter, retrieve, and verify information in computer systems to support accurate patient and office documentation.
