It is essential that this person interacts with everyone who chooses our practice in a professional and cheerful manner, assisting with all aspects of scheduling, registration, and cashiering functions, thereby contributing to quality patient care. Acts as an assistant to Front Office Supervisor for all front office, non-clinical functions and provides cross coverage for other PSC's at times of absence. Sees that confirmation calls are made as needed. Directs patients in filling out record requests and transfer forms. Maintains patient confidentiality, attends meetings as required. Also acts as temporary support staff for clinical functions as needed. Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities Works as a team player in a positive and cooperative manner, openly and professionally sharing concerns and workplace suggestions in a spirit of what's best for the patient and our practice. Scanning and importing documents into practice software. Maintains accurate schedule using electronic appointment system. Sends reminder notices as necessary for upcoming appointments. Each day should be realistically scheduled according to physician guidelines. Verifies necessary demographic and insurance information on each patient visit with computer billing system. Maintains proficiency in software systems, and skilled in use of all office technology. Identifies and seeks solutions to any patient complaints or problems. Responsible for assisting with all in-office collection efforts. Familiar with benefits of each plan, and without variance collects all necessary payments at the time of service unless specified otherwise by physician or biller. participate with. Assists with referrals, scheduling outpatient tests, and admissions as requested. Primary telephone responsibility, answering each call within three rings, and forwarding calls as appropriate to staff or their voice mail systems as requested. Takes patient notes in correct chart and forwards to appropriate nurse, provider, or other staff member. Answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing. Greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner. Oversees waiting area, monitors patient movement, reports problems or irregularities. Maintains work area and waiting area in a neat and orderly manner. Expertise about cosmetic procedures and products and able to answer common patient questions about each, as well as to explain pricing of procedures and ethically convert interested patients into consumers of our services.
