Job Description

Kansas City Animal Emergency is a locally owned and operated emergency clinic in Gladstone, Missouri. We welcome patients in need of emergency treatment or continued out of hours care. Our experienced emergency Veterinarians and staff are passionate about providing an affordable high-quality animal emergency center for the greater Kansas City community. We are currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Receptionist who is passionate about client and patient care to join our team. Our Veterinary Receptionists play a crucial role in being the first point of contact for patients needing emergency care. This position requires being able to work in a fast-paced environment with efficiency and compassion. Core responsibilities include managing hospital communications, supporting hospital flow, providing proper triage techniques, and operating with accuracy. Our Veterinary Receptionists must ensure that outstanding care and services are provided to our clients and patients. What we need Full-time Availability to work 4 overnight shifts weekly, between the hours of 6 PM to 3 AM Role-related experience is heavily preferred Veterinary medicine experience is preferred, but not required Position summary Triage emergency cases as they arrive, elevating critical patients for immediate care when appropriate Respectful and efficient communication with veterinarians, RVTs, veterinary assistants, and clients Maintain a professional environment Ensure all documentation is completed and maintained Manage hospital communication through email, phone calls, and voicemails Support hospital flow Use the medical program DaySmart (training provided) Safely handle cats and dogs in order to obtain weights at check-in Strict adherence to state and federal rules and regulations Follow and complete receptionist portion of hospital checklists A basic grasp of veterinary terminology Ability to learn to operate multiple Point-Of-Sale systems Skills A successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to Show compassion Multi-task Communicate effectively Be detail-oriented Stay calm under pressure Provide excellent customer service Help owners and patients with dedication Be growth-oriented Expected hours: 35 to 40 hours per week
Pay:
