Job Description

This is not an entry-level position. Previous veterinary experience and a strong understanding of veterinary medicine are required. Also a working interview is required within 1 week of the phone interview. Ark is seeking a professional, organized, and customer-focused Veterinary Receptionist to join our fast-paced mixed animal practice. This position serves as the first point of contact for clients and plays a critical role in creating a positive experience while supporting the daily operations of our busy five-exam-room veterinary hospital. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional customer service in a high-volume veterinary environment. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 1 year of veterinary clinic, veterinary hospital, or veterinary reception experience required Working knowledge of veterinary terminology, common veterinary procedures, medications, and preventative care Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn cloud based veterinary practice management software Professional appearance and demeanor Dependable, organized, and team-oriented Responsibilities Greet clients and patients in a professional and welcoming manner Answer and direct a high volume of phone calls Schedule appointments and manage daily doctor schedules Check clients in and out efficiently Process payments and maintain accurate financial records Maintain accurate patient and client records Assist with prescription refill requests and medical record management Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and clients regarding patient care and treatment plans Educate clients on preventative care, vaccination schedules, and hospital policies Support efficient patient flow throughout the hospital Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
