Front Office Receptionist

Denver, NC Job Summary:
As a Front Office Receptionist at our Denver, NC location, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, performing accurate patient registration, and verifying insurance coverage using our medical systems. Your role will support the smooth operation of the clinic in line with established policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly in person or over the phone, responding or directing inquiries appropriately. Record patient arrivals in the Practice Management System (EMR). Identify patients accurately using their date of birth and name; create new accounts as needed. Prepare and manage patient paperwork ahead of appointments. Contact patients with missed appointments to reschedule and document accordingly. Schedule patient appointments to maximize provider time and treatment room utilization while ensuring patient comfort. Assist patients in distress using sound judgment during emergencies. Maintain updated patient information in the Practice Management System (EMR). Verify insurance eligibility, financial status, and determine if prior authorization is required; communicate with Billing Department when necessary. Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming. Collect patient copays and balances effectively while maintaining confidentiality. Adhere to policies and procedures, reporting operational changes as needed. Provide excellent customer service in all interactions with patients, providers, and team members. Answer phone calls promptly and courteously. Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager. Requirements High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred. Minimum 1 year customer service experience, preferably within a healthcare office environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Proficiency with electronic medical records and practice management systems is a plus.
