Job Description

Island Family Medicine is fast-paced, patient-centered primary care and urgent care. We are committed to providing excellent care in a compassionate and professional environment. We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and organized Front Office administrator / Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This individual will be the first point of contact for our patients and must provide outstanding customer service, handle administrative tasks efficiently, and maintain a welcoming front desk.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival Answer multi-line phone system and route calls appropriately Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments Check patients in and out, verify insurance information, and collect co-pays Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records (EHR) Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and messages Ensure the waiting area and front desk are clean and organized Assist with administrative support as needed by medical staff
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (required) Medical Office Administration degree (preferred) Prior experience as a receptionist, preferably in a medical setting (preferred) Familiarity with medical terminology and EHR systems (a plus) Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Proficient with computers, basic software (Microsoft Office), and office equipment Professional demeanor and appearance
