Job Description

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and callers by providing courteous customer service and administrative support. Responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls, greeting guests, recording and delivering messages, receiving donations and deliveries, issuing receipts, maintaining visitor sign-in procedures, providing information about The Salvation Army's programs and services, making intercom announcements as needed, performing basic clerical duties, and keeping the reception area clean and welcoming. The position may also perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous receptionist, administrative assistant, customer service, or office experience preferred. Friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, and office equipment such as multi-line phones, copiers, and printers. Ability to accurately record messages, handle cash or donations, and maintain records. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when interacting with clients and visitors. Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
