Job Description

Catawba Valley Animal Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented, veterinary receptionist to join our growing, four doctor, companion animal practice. This position will start part-time, with the opportunity to grow into full-time hours. Help us fulfill our vision of excellent patient and client care with compassion and empathy! We are looking for an individual who is outgoing, highly effective at both written and verbal communication, and has the ability to stay well-organized. Our ideal candidate will be a motivated team player with the ability to multitask effectively during busy or stressful situations. A receptionist with previous customer service experience in the veterinary or medical field is preferred. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Primary responsibilities:
Greeting clients and patients in a friendly and professional manner Collaborating with other front desk staff, veterinary assistants, and doctors Scheduling appointments efficiently Answering a multi-line phone system Making phone calls for vaccination reminders and post surgical follow-ups Maintaining accurate patient records and client contact details Collecting payments from clients Contributing to keeping reception area and hospital clean and well organized Coordinating client communication with doctors and staff members Educating clients on hospital protocols and preventative products Primary skills / requirements: Excellent written and verbal communications skills Maintain a calm and empathetic attitude in all interactions with clients and team members Ability to prioritize while multitasking Organized and detail oriented Willingness to learn General computer skills such as email, medical records, data entry, etc. Available to work some Saturdays (half day mornings) Three or more years of customer service experience Previous veterinary or medical customer service experience is preferred This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic veterinary environment where you can make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
