Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Receptionist Reports to:
Administration Purpose:
To contribute to effective school-community relationships by prompt and courteous handling of all inquiries and visitors and to contribute to the efficiency of the Central Office by performing assigned duties.
Responsibilities:
? Follow established guidelines for providing access to the school through the main doors and greeting all visitors ? As the first contact with the public, maintain a positive, professional and productive image and attitude ? Keep office lobby organized - magazines, newspapers ? Answer telephones and route calls to the appropriate staff ? Distribute mail in office mailboxes ? Maintain mailroom - keep forms up-to-date, keep clean ? Maintain copier - toner, paper, etc. ? Run office errands as assigned by Principal ? As available, take initiative to seek out tasks that can be completed for other staff members ? Complete tasks as requested of other staff including, but not limited to, folding letters, stuffing envelopes, affixing postage and typing assignments ? Perform other duties as assigned by
Principal Knowledge and Abilities:
? Knowledge of general office practices ? Ability to operate standard office machines ? Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively with the public; use correct grammar, spelling, and mechanics in writing ? Ability to use a computer and basic software programs ? Ability to relate to the public and other employees in a pleasant and professional manner ? Ability to problem-solve situations and refer to the appropriate department
Training and Experience:
? High School Diploma and two years of employment in an administrative office or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred. ? Training or experience in the use of both Microsoft Office and Google platforms preferred
