Principal Supervises:
N/A Job Summary:
To provide secretarial duties that enhance the smooth operation of the school by performing the essential functions listed below.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform receptionist duties. Answer and route telephone calls. Greet visitors and route to proper person in a friendly and professional manner. 2. Perform secretarial duties. § Handle free and reduced lunch applications. § Prepare the daily absentee sheet and distribute. § Receive and distribute school mail. § Assist with dispensing medication to students according to parent's/doctor's orders. § Assist with sick children and call parents when the need arises. 3. Serve as back-up for SIMS system.
Other Functions:
Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
1. High school diploma. 2. Knowledge of and ability to use a computer and other office machinery. 3. Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time. 4. Ability to effectively communicate with parents and others who enter the school office.
Terms of Employment:
10 months
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of Board of Education policy, North Carolina statutes, and goals established by the Principal.
Environmental Factors:
