Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist to join our animal care team. As the first and last impression of our clinic, you will provide exceptional customer service to pet owners and ensure our front desk runs smoothly in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives in high-stress situations, has a genuine love for animals, and possesses excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities Client Relations:
Greet clients and their pets warmly, check them in, and ensure they feel comfortable and informed during their visit.
Communications:
Answer multi-line phone systems, screen calls, and triage emergency cases. Relay messages between clients, veterinarians, and technicians. Explain pet care instructions and veterinary procedures to clients.
Scheduling:
Manage clinic appointments, surgeries, and boarding. Confirm upcoming appointments and update vaccination/preventative care reminders.
Billing:
Check out clients, invoice services, process transactions (cash, card, and payment plans), and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
Animal Handling:
Assist with animal handling tasks such as restraint, kennel management, and basic pet care instructions
Clinic Upkeep:
Monitor waiting room flow, ensure the lobby and restrooms are spotless, and assist with inventory management for front-desk retail. Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent. 1-2 years of customer service or administrative experience; veterinary clinic experience is highly preferred. Proficiency with veterinary practice management software and basic computer skills. Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology, common pet health issues, and vaccination protocols. Ability to handle multi-tasking and stay calm during emotional or high-stress situations. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Pay:
From $21.00 per hour
