Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable team player to join us.
Optician Duties:
  • Assist customers in selecting eyeglass frames and lenses based on their prescription, preferences, and budget
  • Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes, including pupillary distance, optical centers and multifocal measurements to ensure alignment of eyewear
  • Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and treatments to enhance their vision
  • Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed to ensure optimal comfort and fit
  • Assist with contact lens fittings, instructions, and ordering
  • Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and payments
  • Keep the optical area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as an Optician.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to effectively communicate product options and benefits to customers
  • Knowledge of optical systems and anatomy of the eye
  • Familiarity with medical coding and medical records management
  • Basic understanding of ophthalmology practices and procedures
  • Proficient in using computer systems for order processing and record keeping
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness in the optical area
  • Ideal candidate would have some experience in pretesting equipment to assist the doctor.
