Job Description

Under the general supervision and direction of the Health Center Manager, provides reception and clerical services. These services include, but are not limited to, greeting patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner; billing, collection, patient check in and out, appointment scheduling, and general admin duties. Essential Functions Knows the organization's Safety and Security procedures. Alerts designated authorities of patient disturbances and suspicious behaviors. Greets clients in a welcoming and professional manner. Logs patients into the Patient Activity Tracker. Obtains patients' financial and demographic data. Answers phone in timely and pleasant manner. Adjusts appointment bookings according to Call Center and clinic needs. Makes clinic appointments as needed. Answer accurately inquiries regarding fees, appointments, etc. Refer other calls to appropriate people. Maintains professionalism when dealing with difficult patients and communicates problems promptly. Bills patients for services rendered in accordance with Electronic Health Record Practice Management Workflow. Participates in quality assurance activities and meets established QA deadlines. Ensures compliance with PPMNJ's "Privacy Guidelines" and HIPAA compliance program. Assists with on-the-job training, and other duties as assigned. Monitors the centers level of service at least weekly. All duties and responsibilities are performed in a professional, culturally competent and customer service oriented manner in compliance with the organization's policy and procedures. Processes patient complaints in a professional manner. Provides telephone coverage for informational calls that may require appropriate internal or external referrals. Assists in maintaining an attractive and comfortable appearance of the Center by refreshing waiting rooms and regular housekeeping of center. Assists PPMNJ and the Center Manager in efforts to achieve PPMNJ benchmarks for the level of service, visits per hour, waiting time, patient satisfaction and meeting revenue cycle goals. Works in an efficient manner and completes tasks and projects on time. Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Two years medical office experience preferred but not required Computer skills required. Salary & Benefits& Hours A competitive salary starting wage of $21.37 an hour and a comprehensive benefits package including:
