Job Description

Job Summary:
The Suffolk County Municipal Employee Benefit Fund is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Receptionist/Claims Processor to join our team in Bohemia, NY. This is a fast-paced office environment where strong time management and multitasking skills are essential. This role serves as the first point of contact for members while supporting the accurate and timely processing of benefit claims. The role requires strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
Primary Duties:
Serve as the front-desk receptionist and first point of contact for members and visitors Greet individuals in a courteous and professional manner Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls and emails Assist members with general inquiries while maintaining confidentiality Maintain front desk organization and daily office flow Perform general administrative duties including filing, scanning, and data entry Secondary Responsibilities - Claims Processing Assist with the receipt, review, and processing of benefit claims Accurately enter claims data into internal systems Verify eligibility and required documentation Communicate with members regarding claim status or missing information Ensure all claims-related activities comply with HIPAA, privacy, and Fund policies Safeguard sensitive and confidential information at all times Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role preferred Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong time management and multitasking skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Professional verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong customer service skills Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality practices preferred Experience in healthcare, insurance, or benefits administration is a plus Work Schedule Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM In-office position based in Bohemia, NY How to Apply Interested candidates should submit their resume for consideration. Pay:
Up to $55,000.00 per year
