Stage Door Receptionist (Temporary)

New 42 is the recipient of a 2025 Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre. The Position New 42 seeks a Temporary Stage Door Receptionist for the New Victory Theater. Stage Door Receptionists are responsible for answering and directing calls, receiving deliveries, entering visitors into our electronic visitor tracking system and have a key role in maintaining a safe environment for staff and performers as the initial contact for all visitors and guests to the facility. Qualified candidates must have customer-service experience, and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Theater venue and/or stage door experience preferred. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for answering incoming calls, receiving deliveries and greeting visitors. Vets and announces deliveries and contractors to appropriate New Victory Theater staff Enforces visitor screening, alerting Associate Director of Studio Operations of any unauthorized entry Maintains updated visitor calendar, sending invites as necessary when appointments are sent from staff Monitors security cameras for interior and exterior, reporting unsafe activity, loitering or other information to building management as needed. Consistently following up with building management if on going and once resolved. Reports to management any issues with building including vestibule doors and screens, elevators, or any other building or space related issues.

Essential Knowledge and Qualifications:

English language fluency Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organization skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time Comfort with technology and digital tools such as Google and/or Microsoft suites Ability to collaborate and work with others Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Interest in, or knowledge of the performing arts, arts education, or other arts and culture forms a plus Why Should I Apply?
