Description:
Basic Functions:
The School Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the school. This role supports a welcoming and professional environment by greeting visitors, managing incoming communications, maintaining office operations, and supporting school staff with clerical duties. This is a full work-year position.
Essential Functions:
Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate individuals. Maintain visitor logs and issue visitor badges according to school safety procedures. Monitor front entry and ensure security protocols are followed. Provide clerical support to school staff (e.g., copying, filing, data entry). Manage the delivery and distribution of mail, packages, and internal communications. Assist with maintaining and updating student contact information and directories. Assist with attendance tracking and late arrival documentation. Support emergency protocols and communicate announcements when needed. Assist with ordering and inventory of office supplies and forms. Assist with event preparation, registration, and communication to families as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
H.S. diploma or equivalent; associate degree or related coursework preferred. Prior experience in a school or office setting preferred Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment Ability to independently manage routine administrative tasks. Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred. Experience working with special education system and/or students with disabilities preferred.
