Hancock Metropolitan Housing Authority (HMHA) Join Our Team Hancock Metropolitan Housing Authority is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Part-Time Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to support daily office operations and assist with our Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. This position is ideal for someone seeking a consistent weekday schedule while building long-term skills in a stable, mission-driven environment serving the local community. What You'll Do Serve as the first point of contact by answering phones and greeting clients Assist applicants and participants with forms and paperwork Receive, review, and organize incoming documents Scan and route documents to appropriate staff Prepare mailings, packets, and general correspondence Support recertifications and program documentation Review leases and contracts for completeness Assist with scheduling inspections and internal coordination Assist with maintaining the Housing Choice Voucher waiting list and applicant records Maintain an organized, professional front office Provide general administrative support to staff and leadership What We're Looking For Strong customer service and communication skills Organized and detail-oriented Comfortable multitasking in a busy office environment Basic computer skills (email, Word, data entry) Reliable, professional, and dependable Preferred but not required: Prior receptionist or office experience Experience working with the public Experience in a fast-paced office environment Familiarity with housing programs or government offices Why Work Here Consistent Monday-Wednesday schedule No evenings or weekends Supportive, team-oriented environment Meaningful work helping local families Opportunity to build long-term skills in public housing programs Position may lead to full-time opportunities based on performance and agency needs Paid training provided How to Apply Please submit your resume and cover letter to hmhamain@hancockmetro.
