Job Description

Job Summary:
The Nursing Home Receptionist is the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and staff. This role involves managing front desk operations, handling phone calls, providing information, and supporting administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet residents, family members, staff, and visitors warmly and professionally Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a courteous and timely manner Maintain visitor logs and ensure proper sign-in/sign-out procedures Assist with scheduling appointments and meetings as needed Distribute mail and packages to residents and staff Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry Ensure the reception area is tidy, organized, and welcoming Support other departments with clerical tasks as required Monitor visitor adherence to facility policies, including infection control and safety protocols Respond to inquiries about facility services and provide directions or referrals when appropriate All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous receptionist or customer service experience preferred, especially in healthcare or senior care settings Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with office equipment (phones, printers, fax machines) and basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office) Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine interest in working with the elderly Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or evenings as needed
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate office equipment
Pay:
$10.00 - $13.00 per hour
