Office Manager or Practice Administrator Position Summary The Internal Medicine Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients in a busy medical office. This role is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, verifying insurance information, maintaining accurate patient records, and supporting efficient daily clinic operations while providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner Answer and route incoming phone calls Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Check patients in and out for appointments Verify insurance coverage and collect co-pays or balances Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) Handle patient registration forms and documentation Communicate appointment reminders and office policies Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other staff members Process referrals, medical records requests, and prior authorizations as needed Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Keep the reception and waiting areas organized and professional Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous receptionist, front desk, or customer service experience preferred Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred Familiarity with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment Professional appearance and demeanor Preferred Qualifications Experience in an internal medicine or healthcare setting Knowledge of insurance verification and medical scheduling Bilingual skills are a plus Skills and Competencies Customer service excellence Attention to detail Time management Problem-solving abilities Team collaboration Data entry accuracy Confidentiality and professionalism Work Environment Clinic setting Primarily seated at front desk/reception area Frequent interaction with patients, providers, and staff Standard business hours with possible occasional overtime
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
