Full-time Position Summary:
Seeking a front desk receptionist for a high-volume retinal specialty clinic. This role is responsible for delivering a professional, efficient, and compassionate patient experience while supporting smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in an extremely fast-paced medical environment. Key Responsibilities Patient Reception & Customer Service Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival. Provide clear instructions for check-in procedures and required documentation. Handle a very high volume of patient interactions with empathy and efficiency. Answer phone calls, route messages, and respond to inquiries using proper phone etiquette. Scheduling & Coordination Schedule, confirm, and update appointments for single provider Coordinate referrals and obtain prior authorizations when necessary. Manage and triage urgent appointment requests based on clinical guidelines. Maintain awareness of provider schedules and template to ensure smooth clinic flow and to minimize patient wait times. Administrative & Clerical Duties Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect co-pays or outstanding balances. Accurately enter patient demographics and insurance information into the EMR. Prepare, scan, and maintain medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards. Assist with daily administrative tasks such as mail distribution, faxing, scanning, coordinating incoming and outgoing referrals, reminder calls, and posting of check and credit card payments. Clinic Operations Support Communicate effectively with technicians and providers to support patient flow. Monitor waiting areas and patient bathrooms to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Support end-of-day reconciliation, appointment audits, and closing procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office experience preferred. Knowledge of ophthalmology or retinal practice workflows is a plus.
