Job Description

Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred, with customer service experience highly desired. Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machines. Pleasant, positive, and professional personality. Ability to take instructions and work well with others. Ability to assist the public with tact and enthusiasm. Technology proficiency required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, etc., and Google applications, and a willingness to learn different computer programs. A genuine passion for working with the public is a must.

Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Accountability Job Goal:
To respond quickly to inquiries from staff, the public, etc., to provide requested information and/or referral to other parties; and to provide general clerical instructional support to the Executive Directors of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Responsibilities:
Greets the public, parents, students, vendors, and other visitors for the purpose of responding to inquiries and/or directing them to appropriate staff. Answers a multiline telecommunications system for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries, and/or taking messages. Assists the Executive Directors of Elementary and Secondary Education for the purpose of supporting the completion of their work activities within the District Office. Evaluates situations involving staff, students, parents, and members of the public for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing individuals to the appropriate staff for resolution. Coordinates meeting and event logistics (e.g., scheduling, meal orders, delivery and pickup coordination, and related communications) for the purpose of supporting district meetings, professional development activities, and departmental operations. Distributes mail, supplies, messages, and other materials for the purpose of disseminating information and resources to appropriate parties. Performs record keeping and a broad array of general and program-specific clerical functions (e.g., scheduling, copying, filing, faxing, and data entry) for the purpose of supporting assigned administrators and departmental operations. Processes documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties. Responds to emergency calls for the purpose of notifying appropriate personnel and addressing immediate safety concerns. Schedules a variety of activities (e.g., meetings, work orders, staff coverage, and facility usage) for the purpose of supporting staff needs and the efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, and facilities. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Terms of Employment:
S3 FMSD Salary Schedule. Initial placement on the salary schedule is based on a formula considering education and experience. 240 Contract Days (year-round), 7 hours per day. 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Non-Exempt Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
