Job Description

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ORANGEBURG, SC SOLICITOR'S OFFICE.
The purpose of the class is to perform routine clerical work; to perform a variety of clerical tasks as assigned; and to always provide professional and courteous customer service. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES
Assists the public by providing customer service. Assists employees with clerical needs. Answers telephone calls, greets, and directs citizens. Takes precise messages and ensures prompt delivery to appropriate staff. Prepares and sorts incoming and outgoing mail and packages. Manages incoming and outgoing faxes from the office. Creates and/or maintains associated documents and databases, arranges/coordinates meetings, special events. Updates supervisor of critical issues/events. Prepares and files required metrics and regulatory reports. Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED. Requires at least one (1) year of related work experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a safe and secure work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands. Dorchester County has the right to revise this job description at any time. This description does not represent in any way a contract of employment. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but employees must be available during the "core" work hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends as required. Employees must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays during emergencies or as requested. This is a safety sensitive position and employees holding this position have the responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. This position is subject to random drug testing. E.O.E.
