Job Description
Primary Purpose Main receptionist for the District Support Center of Canyon ISD. Responsible for directing all telephone communications to proper offices and performing all other clerical duties and tasks as directed to support the functions of the District Support Center and Human Resources Office. Qualifications Education/Certification High School Diploma or the equivalent Special Knowledge Skills Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Demonstrates professionalism when dealing with customers and CISD employees, especially in difficult situations Ability to operate a multi-line phone system and standard office equipment Ability to effectively use the computer and related software programs Willingness to learn the duties/responsibilities of all District Support Center office employees Experience Six months to one year of related experience preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties Open District Support Center every morning Hang and remove flags daily. Answer all incoming telephone calls and route messages to proper individuals/departments. Sign for packages and notify departments of deliveries. Distribute incoming mail in District Support Center mailboxes. Prepare answer machine messages for holidays, early closings, summer hours and regular hours and make signs for the front door. Assist Human Resources with Online Application System. Acknowledge/greet all individuals that enter the main doors of the District Support Center, and notify or direct them to the proper office/department. Issue Gold Cards to Senior Citizens for admittance to athletic events. Run criminal history background check for volunteers. Assist Human Resources Department/Athletic Department with various clerical duties. Maintain confidentiality. Represent the school system to the community in a positive professional way. Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward visitors and patrons to ensure communication. Perform additional duties as required by Human Resources and Athletic office. Working Conditions Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Occasional prolonged use of multi-line phone system, computer; prolonged sitting in one location; need for continuous communication with central office personnel; must work under pressure to satisfy demands of telephone calls while directing individuals that enter the central office main doors.
