Job Description
We are hiring a front-line receptionist to manage incoming calls and texts from women seeking information about abortion and pregnancy options. This position requires a steady, professional demeanor and the ability to respond to urgent, emotionally complex situations with clarity, calm, and compassion. The right candidate will have experience in high-pressure communication environments. Excellent verbal and written skills, and strong emotional intelligence are key. Comfort with technology is essential — you'll be using multiple platforms to manage messages, document interactions, and coordinate with team members in real time. This is not just a customer service role — it's a critical communications position for someone skilled at navigating sensitive conversations with focus and discretion. Objectives To serve as the first point of contact for women reaching out for help, often those seeking abortion information. This role is responsible for answering incoming phone calls and text messages with compassion, professionalism, and discretion; scheduling appointments; and ensuring that each client receives timely, sensitive, and appropriate care. The receptionist also provides administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of front-office activities. Reports to Executive Director/ Director of Operations Schedule/Pay $17/hour Minimum of 22 hours per week, Maximum of 40 (late clinic days, community events, and some weekend time may be required occasionally)
Job Specific Qualifications:
Be a committed Christian demonstrating a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior Maintain a consistent life-affirming philosophy; never refer or advise a woman to have an abortion. Believe in chastity outside of marriage and uphold the sanctity of marriage between a man and woman. Have a sincere desire to reach abortion-vulnerable, post-abortive, and spiritually searching individuals. Be aligned with the Center's mission, vision, core values, doctrinal statement, and policies. Be dependable, emotionally steady, and capable of managing sensitive conversations with discretion. Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills — both verbal and written. Be intuitive, calm under pressure, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Be comfortable using technology, including messaging systems, calendars, and CRM tools. Bilingual (Spanish/English). Must successfully complete required training program.Responsibilities:
Client Communication & Scheduling Respond promptly and compassionately to phone calls, texts, and online inquiries. Triage calls and messages, identifying urgent needs and routing them appropriately. Schedule and confirm appointments with accuracy and sensitivity. Maintain client confidentiality at all times. Document client interactions in accordance with Center policies. Front Office Administration Greet clients, volunteers, and visitors warmly and professionally. Maintain a calm and welcoming atmosphere in the reception area. Ensure intake paperwork and client files are properly managed and secured. Monitor office supplies and assist with restocking as needed. Assist with special projects and support staff as requested.Team Support:
Attend volunteer/staff in-services and trainings as scheduled. Collaborate with Client Services team to ensure continuity of care. Communicate effectively with other departments to support smooth operations.Team Culture:
MUST be a team-player, able and willing to work with other staff team-members by being a Servant-Leader who is can motivate, collaborate and inspire to establish unity & integrity at all times. Willing team member for all Hope Center fundraisers and events.Supervision/Direction:
Receive periodic supervision in the form of general parameters and an annual evaluation. Report to the Director of Operations weekly to communicate any needs or issues. The executive director has an open-door policy and encourages you to visit when you would like.Pay:
