Houston, TX Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description As a Sacred Heart Educator, the School Receptionist serves as the welcoming first point of contact for students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors to the school community. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, supporting daily administrative functions, coordinating communications, and ensuring a professional, organized, and hospitable environment aligned with the mission and values of the school. The School Receptionist must demonstrate professionalism, discretion, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment while aligned with the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria and the mission of the school. Front Desk & Reception Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for all visitors, parents, students, faculty, and vendors entering the school Greet visitors in a professional, warm, and service-oriented manner Manage the front desk reception area to ensure a welcoming, organized, and secure environment Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls promptly and professionally Respond to general inquiries and direct requests to the appropriate departments or personnel Monitor visitor check-in procedures and maintain visitor logs in accordance with school safety protocols Coordinate the issuance of visitor badges and ensure adherence to campus security procedures Receive and distribute mail, deliveries, and packages Assist with student sign-in/sign-out procedures and maintain accurate attendance-related documentation Support front office traffic flow during arrival, dismissal, and special events 2. Administrative Support Responsibilities Prepare correspondence, labels, forms, and reports as requested Support substitute coordination by facilitating the check in and check out process Support faculty administrative requests as needed 3. Parent, Student & Faculty Support Provide courteous and responsive customer service to parents and families Assist students who report to the front office for illness, appointments, early dismissal, or general assistance 4. Attendance & Student Operations Support Assist with daily attendance tracking and reporting procedures Support late arrival and early dismissal processes Coordinate communication regarding attendance inquiries and student absences Maintain accurate attendance and visitor records in accordance with school procedures Assist with emergency contact verification and student release procedures 5. Event & Operational Coordination Support logistics for school events, open houses, parent meetings, orientations, and admissions activities Assist with campus hospitality arrangements for visitors and school functions Support operational communication during emergency drills and campus procedures Assist with maintaining orderly and professional front office operations throughout the school day 6. Communication & Systems Coordination Maintain accurate contact information and front office records Compile a complete faculty and staff directory for direct phone line extensions 7. Professional & Mission Alignment Responsibilities Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, integrity, and strong customer service in all interactions Foster a respectful, collaborative, and welcoming school environment Maintain compliance with school policies, procedures, and safety standards Support the mission, values, and culture of the all-boys educational environment aligned with the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school initiatives as appropriate Support school events and mission-centered activities during and beyond the regular school day Perform additional duties as assigned to support school-wide operations High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 2 years of administrative, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred Experience working in an educational environment preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Strong attention to detail and follow-through Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and school management systems preferred Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Professional demeanor and commitment to exceptional customer service
