Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Veterinary Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service while supporting the daily administrative operations of the veterinarian practice. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, managing patient records, handling communications, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner. Answer incoming text messages and direct inquiries appropriately. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments. Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation. Collect amounts owed. Maintain accurate patient records. Process patient registration forms and obtain necessary signatures. Manage incoming and outgoing email communications. Coordinate with medical staff regarding patient scheduling and needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. Support office operations as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a medical or veterinarian office or healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the day. Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and scanners.
Work Environment:
Professional veterinary office. Frequent interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and staff. Must be able to work EVERY Wednesday-Saturday from 7:30am-4pm. Extra hours may be worked as desired.

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
