Front Desk Monitor - Summer Splash Kent Youth and Family Services - 3.6 Kent, WA Job Details Part-time | Seasonal From $18.29 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Youth recreational activities facilitation Youth mentoring Team leadership Cultural competency Child supervision Working with youth Full Job Description Kent Youth and Family Services (KYFS) is hiring a Front Desk Monitor for our Summer Splash Program. The Summer Splash program works with children aged Kindergarten through 6th grade in the development of their academic skills. This position is responsible for persons and their belongings entering or leaving the facility during program hours. The Front Desk Monitor works closely with other team members to provide a safe, friendly environment for participants and visitors. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure accurate upkeep and maintenance of participant database. Create demographic and monthly reports to meet needs of all contract requirements. Set up front desk area and insure that all signs, banners and information material is displayed daily. Be at front desk during all program hours unless instructed by supervisor to do otherwise. Monitor sign-in/out of all participants and guests. Insure that adult guests are identified and escorted in the facility when necessary. Help disperse hallway crowds and youth hanging out in front of building. Assist in promoting program activities as needed. Enforce all program policies, procedures and rules as posted. Work closely with Site Lead, Summer Splash staff and other team members. Other duties as assigned.
JOB TYPE/SCHEDULE
Part time, Monday to Friday beginning in mid June through the end of the program, which runs through the end of August. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the program.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Dependable. Ability to work in a fast pace environment. Appreciation and respect for diversity and understanding of cultural dynamics. Ability to follow directions and communicate, both written and verbal. Ability to collaboratively interact with participants, community residents, other staff, and service providers. Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task to meet time lines in the implementation of recreational activities for the program. Provide leadership and supervision of youth in activities. Must be able to perform this job in a professional and responsible manner and be a positive role model for the participants served by the program. Must pass a Washington State Patrol and federal criminal background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Travel to meetings and program sites. Ride in agency vans when transportation for participants and adults is needed for recreational activities. Work with large groups of youth and withstand increased noise levels and/or loud environments. Physical agility to participate in youth recreational activities. Be able to stand for extended lengths of time to participate or implement program and activities. Generally good working conditions with limited or no exposure to extremes in noises, temperature, and weather conditions. Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds on occasion or with assistance.
