Job Description:
We are seeking a friendly and reliable Receptionist to join our team at Tooth Ferry Pediatric Dentistry. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive experience from the moment they enter our clinic. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to customer service.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly as they arrive at the clinic, ensuring they feel welcome and comfortable. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding appointments, services, and general information about the practice. Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinating with patients' preferences and availability. Verify patient information, update records accurately, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed. Collect patient payments and issue receipts as needed. Maintain a tidy and organized reception area, waiting room and patient restroom, ensuring it is presentable at all times. Assist with administrative tasks such as communicating through Oryx and email. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations. Handle patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating issues as necessary. Provide oral health education materials and resources to patients and families as directed by the dental team.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role, preferably in a healthcare or dental setting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Knowledge of basic administrative tasks and familiarity with office software applications (Oryx, Outlook). Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in office administration is a plus. Passion for working with children and families and a commitment to promoting oral health and wellbeing.
