Compensation:
$24 per hour , depending on qualifications and experience Position Summary The Front Office Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for community members, clients, partners, and visitors entering Nuestras Raíces. This position plays a critical role in creating a welcoming, organized, and culturally responsive environment while supporting daily front office operations. Responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls, scheduling appointments, assisting with client services, supporting the food and clothing banks, processing payments and donations, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area. The ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, highly organized, and committed to serving diverse communities with dignity and respect. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Front Desk & Administrative Support Greet clients, visitors, volunteers, and community members in a warm, professional, and culturally responsive manner. Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls appropriately. Take accurate messages and ensure timely communication to staff members. Respond to general inquiries and provide information regarding programs and services. Schedule appointments for staff and programs as directed. Assist clients with forms and basic front office support needs. Monitor front office flow and maintain an organized reception environment. Assist with filing, copying, scanning, and other clerical duties. Community Support Services Assist with the operation of the Clothing Bank, including organizing donations, maintaining inventory, and helping community members access items. Assist with Food Bank distribution and support daily operations as needed. Receive and organize donated items and ensure proper storage and documentation. Support intake and basic service navigation when appropriate. Financial Transactions & Donations Receive and process payments for services, classes, events, or other program activities. Accept and document monetary and in-kind donations according to organizational procedures. Provide receipts and maintain accurate records of transactions. Follow cash handling and payment processing protocols. Facility & Workspace Maintenance Maintain the copy area and shared office spaces in a clean, organized, and clutter-free condition. Monitor office supplies and communicate restocking needs. Assist in maintaining a welcoming and professional office environment. Support general office organization and operational readiness. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or administrative experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years of customer service, administrative support, or reception experience preferred. Experience working in nonprofit, community-based, or social service settings preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Experience working with culturally diverse populations desired. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to provide exceptional customer service with compassion and professionalism. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic office technology. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25-30 pounds for donation and food bank support. Ability to move throughout the facility and assist with operational needs.
