Job Description

Essential Functions:
  • Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice.
  • Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed.
  • Assisting patients to fill out information forms.
  • Preparing patients' charts and daily schedules for the dental staff.
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders.
  • Communicating with medical insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments.
  • Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing and faxing.
  • Keeping the schedule filled to maximize the daily potential on production. Scheduling treatment at check-out
  • Communicating daily with patients via phone, email and text.
  • Communicating with other offices on requests, transfers or medical information.
  • Presenting and explaining payment and insurance plan to patients before treatment(s) is performed
  • Verify methods of payment and collecting payments as needed.
  • Ensure timely collection from patients, including payment or insurance processing as necessary.
  • Optimize Dentrix software for treatment planning, scheduling, posting payments, recall system and reports.
  • Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies.
  • Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
  • Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
  • Occasionally there may be some travel, by car or plane, required in order for you to participate in continuing education or seminars.
  • Business casual must be worn, personal cleanliness and hygiene must be maintained at all times. Chewing gum is not permitted.
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
