Switchboard Engineer I Location:
Kearny, New Jersey A global electrical infrastructure manufacturer is seeking multiple Switchboard Engineers to support rapidly growing demand across across low voltage switchboards and panelboards. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company with an established international footprint that has historically been recognized within the telecommunications and surge protection markets, and is now continuing to expand its presence across power distribution equipment driven largely by AI and data center infrastructure growth. The role reports directly into the Engineering Manager and offers strong visibility within a growing engineering team supporting highly customized engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities Design 3D sheet metal parts and assemblies (150+ item BOMs) Develop wiring diagrams including PLCs, relays, breaker accessories, and control components Create and interpret one-lines, front views, and layout drawings using CAD software Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams Support customer-driven design solutions and communicate with suppliers/vendors as needed
What They're Looking For:
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar) 1-5 years of experience in an electro-mechanical or electrical manufacturing environment Strong proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software (Autodesk preferred) Familiarity with NEC and UL standards highly preferred Experience with UL891, UL67, UL508A, or UL1558 is a plus Exposure to conductor sizing, OCPDs, and control logic/circuits preferred
