Based on facility's needs (United States of America) Job Description The PBX Operator Supervisor ensures the PBX operator team responds to all incoming calls in a timely and efficient manner, directing all callers to their appropriate destination, and providing a clear, smooth, and professionally courteous communication practice.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Previous PBX experience is preferred. Experience in a customer service position is preferred. Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Management experience is preferred. DUTIES Create schedules for the operator team. Fill in for any staffing call-ins as needed. Ensure the team successfully performs the following tasks: Answer multiple incoming telephone lines. Correct and update posted information as needed. Assist with the upkeep of directories, on-call list, etc. Obtain necessary information and transfer calls to correct extensions. Accurately utilize the features of PBX consoles, headsets, telephones, and all other related equipment. Provide information to callers as appropriate. Assist with maintaining cleanliness, safety, and security of the PBX area. Perform overhead paging. Maintain confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data. Monitor all alarms located in PBX and notify appropriate personnel as required. Ensure release of information is consistent with all privacy policies. Respond promptly and accurately to disaster and emergency situations, as required, while remaining calm. Orient and train new team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Able to lift 0-40 lb. occasionally. Capable of performing work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, and some lifting. Capable of sitting for extended periods of time while maintaining an alert and responsive demeanor. Ability to perform calmly, competently, and quickly in emergencies. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and even other hours as needed per assigned area. Must have outstanding communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) or the primary language spoken by the majority of customers and staff at the facility.
