Job Description
Is this you? Do you naturally reach for a multimeter to confirm a power reading—and understand the theory behind it? Can you trace a circuit from a schematic and spot wiring discrepancies fast? Have you run Hipot tests, used test cards, and kept meticulous test records? Are you comfortable jumping between Siemens WinPM, Step 7, MicroWin, WinC Flexible, and SAP to execute and document inspections? What you'll be doing Testing and inspecting low-voltage switchgear and switchboards to meet UL1558, UL891, IEEE, and related standards. Verifying circuit design and operation using electronic theory and measurement best practices. Executing Hipot and other validation procedures with test cards, hand tools, and appropriate fixtures. Auditing mechanical and electrical assemblies for build quality and compliance. Capturing results in detailed logs and formal test/inspection reports. Must-haves High School Diploma/GED. At least 2 years of experience or strong exposure to electrical components. Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and repair aptitude with strong problem-solving. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Clear communication, strong organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Strong work ethic and consistent follow-through. Nice-to-haves Associate Degree. 2+ years in engineering or quality functions for power distribution equipment. Knowledge of UL1558, UL891, and UL508 standards. Familiarity with breakers, relays, and communication devices used in power distribution. Tools & software in play Multimeter, Hipot equipment, test cards, and hand tools. Siemens WinPM, Step 7, MicroWin, WinC Flexible, and SAP for testing/inspection workflows.
