incumbents are responsible for reviewing, interpreting and updating California abstracts, out-of-state abstracts, accidents, deceased notices, stipulated vehicle release agreements, court convictions and basic corrective updates; identifying and matching records to the DMV database by using the Automated Name Index system; assisting courts by answering phone calls and providing information; making recommendations for updating records according to internal policy and procedures; referring courts to informational memos, California Vehicle Codes, new laws and reporting criteria; responding to inquiries by telephone and written correspondence; informing court personnel of recent developments and errors on customer records; assisting with incoming mail for the unit; and performing other duties as required.
