Experienced Automotive Dealership Contracts Clerk

About Us We are a busy, customer-focused automotive dealership in Thousand Oaks seeking an experienced Contracts Clerk to support our Business Office. This role is critical to ensuring all vehicle sales contracts are processed accurately, funded quickly, and compliant with California regulations. Position Summary The Contracts Clerk is responsible for reviewing, processing, and submitting all vehicle sale and lease contracts to lenders in a timely and compliant manner. The ideal candidate has prior dealership experience, strong attention to detail, and working knowledge of California DMV and lender documentation requirements. Key Responsibilities Review all retail, lease, and cash contracts for accuracy and compliance before submission Process contracts for funding with banks, credit unions, and finance companies Verify required documents: credit applications, stipulations, proof of income, insurance, DMV forms, and signatures Ensure all deals comply with California

DMV, FTC

Safeguards Rule, and dealership policies Reconcile funded deals and maintain organized deal jackets (digital and physical) Communicate with F&I Managers and Sales Managers to resolve discrepancies Maintain confidentiality of customer financial information Daily Bank Deposit Stocking in of New Vehicle Inventory Processing Dealer Trades Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of automotive dealership contracts or Automotive Business office experience Strong knowledge of California DMV paperwork and lender funding requirements Experience with Dealer Management Systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar) High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet funding deadlines Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of OFAC, Red Flags Rule, and Safeguards compliance Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally Benefits Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holidays 401(k) with employer match Employee vehicle purchase program Supportive team environment Equal Employment Opportunity Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind.
